Kuopio Center for Gene and Cell Therapy is a research institute in Finland performing high-quality translational research. We are developing safer, regulated and more efficient gene therapy viral vectors and innovative ex vivo edited immune cell therapies. Early research includes traditional and ‘omics’ methodologies to support product development and the critical quality attributes definition relevant to the mode of action and safety. In vivo and in vitro disease models in solid tumors and cardiovascular diseases are crucial part of the research towards novel therapies. We take pride in our process development on finding the best solution for automated, closed processes that can ensure robust and reproducible product manufacturing. The research is done in close partnership with biotech companies and in collaboration with academic groups.
